DHSA sees education as a powerful tool for social change. It contributes among other factors, to bring long-term and permanent social change. DHSA intends to use this master tool to enlighten the future of the Afghan nations.
DHSA is working in the field of education for the last 22 years. It is working both on a self-help basis as well as through partnerships. DHSA is running a non-profit network of RANA Schools in different provinces. Establishing more non-profit schools in most underserved areas is among the strategic priorities of DHSA. Meanwhile, DHSA enjoys the pride of partnering in Afghanistan’s? most innovative, long term, huge, and diverse educational programs. These programs include, but not limited to:
- Afghanistan Primary Education Program, USAID/CAII for four years
- Quality Education for Girls program, Oxfam Novib for 4.5 years
- Building Education Support System for Teachers (BESST), USAID/CAII for six years
- Afghanistan Basic Education Program, USAID/CAII for one year
- Education Support Program, BRACK for one year

DHSA has played a tremendous role since long years ago in the education sector, implemented accelerated learning programs, and Building Education Support Systems for Teachers-BESST in Daikundi & Khost Provinces. Moreover, 20,000 students have been taught by 800 teachers and 80 supervisors in the far and urban areas of the country.
Currently, RANA Schools has standard education facilities, registered with the Ministry of Education. RANA networking of schools offers its services for the education and training of future builders of the country. RANA had several graduates at different times in the community. RANA schools offer qualitative teachings, reasonable fees, standard building, qualified and well-trained teachers, recognized as outstanding schools through Education Directorates in the country. Our schools have implemented a government education syllabus, supplementary subjects, theology, and scientific subjects. Afghanistan Primary Education Program (APEP):
APEP was a USAID program subcontracted by Creative Associates International from May 2003 to March 2007. The focus of the program was to provide 170,000 youth with accelerated education programs and later to enroll them into formal schools. DHSA along with other partners through a consortium managed to implement APEP in 17 provinces of Afghanistan for four years. Through this project 170,000 youth, including 56% female, completed six grades in three years and have been integrated into the formal schools in 17 provinces
Quality Education for Girls:
Quality Education program for Girls was the unique program of its kind designed for Diakondi within the period of 4.5 years by Oxfam NOVIB. The program started from Jan 01, 2004, to June 30, 2008. The objectives of the program were increasing the enrolment rate of girls, capacity building of teachers, capacity building of school administration, and enhancing the quality of primary and secondary education for girls. Being the implementing partner of NOVIB, DHSA successfully managed and implemented the program within a period of 4.5 years in Diakondi province.
